General information

Tungsten mandrels are shaped out of tungsten rods. Mandrels are primarily used for piercing seamless steel pipe. Tungsten is a refractory metal with the highest melting point, lowest thermal expansion, most resistant to corrosion as well as high temperature, and is therefore valuable for many industries for properties which can’t be achieved from other metals and alloys.

Tungsten mandrel is more than 90% pure. It has low vapour pressure and doesn’t oxidise rapidly at room temperatures or extremely high temperatures. Tungsten mandrels are widely used in industries that involve high temperature operations like furnace construction, petrochemical, solar energy, etc. Tungsten mandrels are usually available in large quantities and different sizes as per the requirements.
