Silicon carbide crucibles are oxidation resistance, high temperature resistance, thermal shocks resistance, resistance to wetting, good hardness and wear resistance. It also has very good thermal conductivity, high strength, low thermal expansion, and highly chemical resistance. SiC crucibles are mainly used at temperatures up to 1600 oC (3000 oF) and are suitable for smelting and refining precious metals, base metals, and other metallurgical applications.
